The idea of the Door Claw was born in March 2020 as the Coronavirus pandemic was raging. My girlfriend was becoming increasingly anxious about touching door handles and other hard objects that are in high traffic public areas.
As more news stories broke that COVID-19 could survive on hard surfaces for several days I knew that I had to design and manufacture something to help prevent the spread of coronavirus on commonly touched surfaces like door handles and chip and pin machines.
The Door Claw has been designed to enable you to push or pull open doors, tap in your pin number on Chip and Pin machines and use ATMs without coming into contact with them.
Due to brass being an alloy of copper it has antimicrobial properties that destroy a wide range of microorganisms. When influenzas, bacterias (like E. coli), superbugs (like MRSA), and even Coronaviruses land on brass they begin to die in a very short space of time and are often undetectable within hours (unlike other hard surfaces where they can survive for days).
**This product is designed to minimise contact with surfaces that potentially hundreds of people (if not more) have touched. We make no claims that this will prevent you from catching Coronavirus or otherwise, it is merely an aid to help lower the chances of catching or spreading it and to help flatten the curve.**
