The idea of the Door Claw was born in March 2020 as the Coronavirus pandemic was raging. My girlfriend was becoming increasingly anxious about touching door handles and other hard objects that are in high traffic public areas.
In addition to my girlfriend’s concerns I also have several friends who are doctors and knew that anything that could lower the risk of infection for them would be worth while having.
As more news stories broke that COVID-19 could survive on hard surfaces for several days I knew that I had to design and manufacture something to help prevent the spread of coronavirus on commonly touched surfaces like door handles, chip and pin machines and buttons in elevators, etc..
